Fun and Food at the French Festival!

Wine Wine and Glass France comes to Santa Barbara! Outdoor vendors and sidewalk cafes. Tables with umbrellas and checkered tablecloths. Fresh baked french breads and pastries. Classic and nouvelle cuisine and regional specialities. Crepes, onion soup, quiche, pates, sausage, escargots, Cajun and French Moroccan food, salads and cheeses. Beer, wine, sparking Champagne. Orangina, Perrier, and frothy cafe au lait. Chef Michel Richard says it's like going to France without paying for it.

Over 20,000 happy people are French for the weekend. Outdoors under the sun in Santa Barbara's beautiful Oak Park.

Raucous cancan. Folk music and dancing. Classical recitals. Accordion players. Tributes to Edith Piaf and Maurice Chevalier. Moroccan belly dancing. Grand opera. Cajun bands. Jazz. Tango. Classical recitals. Roving jugglers, mimes and troubadours. A complete schedule with performance times will be distributed at the Festival.

Impressionist painters at their easels, reminiscent of Montmartre or Provence. Handcrafted jewelry. Berets. French books, tapes and videos.
Eiffel Tower!
A huge, specially commissioned Eiffel Tower is the focal-point of the Fete.

Gallery displays, French films, musical events, travel slide shows, etc. all week.
French Art Show
Watercolor paintings of Provence and Paris by Steve Hoegerman, Director of the French Festival and leader of Journeys to Hidden Provence, will be on display until July 31 in the lobby of the Public Library in downtown Santa Barbara.
For the Kids
Puppet shows, storytellers, bouncer, wading pool. Climb Mont Blanc. Experience the Crepe Flipper. Meet Madeleine and Asterix.
